SUMMARY System Monitor (plasma-systemmonitor) only shows Intel integrated GPU stats if run with sudo/root permissions. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run System Monitor normally on a laptop with an Intel integrated GPU. 2. Run "sudo plasma-systemmonitor" from a terminal on a laptop with an Intel integrated GPU. 3. OBSERVED RESULT System Monitor (and kstatsviewer) can't see the integrated Intel GPU stats without using root/sudo. EXPECTED RESULT Intel GPU stats should be available without sudo permissions. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE neon User Edition KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0 Qt Version: 6.9.1 Kernel Version: 6.14.0-29-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.5 GiB usable) Graphics Processor 1: Intel® HD Graphics 520 Graphics Processor 2: AMD Radeon R5 M330 Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 80SA System Version: LENOVO_IDEAPAD ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Supposedly this should be available per https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436770#c9 and later comments. This is why I've put this as a Neon bug, because the feature is there, just the Neon packages seemingly do not have it.
should be fixed by https://invent.kde.org/neon/kde/ksystemstats/-/commit/80df5a02644bcc69050d0d20289c9677055fb7a3

Hi, is this supposed to be fixed in 6.4.5, or a later release? I've got: System Monitor: 6.4.5 KDE neon User Edition (Wayland) KDE Frameworks: 6.18.0 Qt: Using 6.9.2 and built against 6.9.2 Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-lp64 Kernel: linux 6.14.0-33-generic and this feature is not enabled yet. Thanks!
