Description lincooln 2025-08-31 15:46:12 UTC
SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. I import the address book.
2. I create a group (work, home, etc)
3. I look at the settings of my personal address book (trying to find the created group or something related to groups)
4. All the contacts in my personal address book disappear.
5. I import all the contacts again. However, I only see a subset of contacts whose group matches the name of the created group.
6. I look at the properties of the address book again and notice that there are twice as many contacts. but I don't see any group contacts or anything else in the main window.

OBSERVED RESULT
All contacts have disappeared. However, all contacts are available in the address book properties.

EXPECTED RESULT
all contacts should be displayed as before. group fields should have changed. it is possible that groups containing contacts added to groups should appear at the beginning of the list.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 lincooln 2025-08-31 15:52:04 UTC
trying to find the problem on my own, I clicked create contact group again. and lo and behold! my contacts were back! this is a strange behavior. it may have been fixed in the latest versions. I will wait for an update to the latest versions of my distribution's package updates.
