Description Christopher Snowhill 2025-08-30 09:59:22 UTC
SUMMARY
KDE Connect is failing to transfer photos from my phone.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Pair my phone
2. Attempt to send a photo

OBSERVED RESULT
The transfer immediately fails on the phone end with a broken pipe error. It sits waiting on the PC side indefinitely. An error is logged in my journal:

```
Aug 30 02:50:13 copycat kdeconnectd[3932]: kdeconnect.core: Disconnecting due to fatal SSL Error:  "The certificate has expired"
```

EXPECTED RESULT
It should send the photo to my desktop.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux - kernel: linux-cachyos 6.16.4-3
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Looks like there's an expired certificate somewhere. Is it in the iOS app, or is it something in my user profile that I should delete?

Maybe you should make it clearer in the documentation that the client certificate needs wiping periodically.
