SUMMARY The KDE Connect iOS Application crashes immediately when started. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install KDE Connect v0.5.2 from the Apple App Store (on iPhone 7, iOS 15.8.4). 2. Launch the KDE Connect application. The application is invisible and inactive. 3. Press the home button twice. Sometimes, KDE Connect is shown with a blank window and can be closed. Sometimes it is not shown at all. This behavior can be reproduced reliably. OBSERVED RESULT The KDE Connect application seems to crash immediately on startup, before showing any GUI elements. The startup animation shows only a blank white window that zooms into full screen. After the animation has finished, the KDE Connect application is invisible and inactive. Instead, the application starter is visible and usable again. The KDE Connect application can be started again with the same result. When pressing the home button twice, KDE Connect is shown as a running application but with a white background and no GUI elements. Sometimes it is not shown at all. KDE Connect is not listed in any of the iOS settings menus. EXPECTED RESULT The application should start up like any other application - in the foreground with a visible and usable GUI. An older version of KDE Connect has worked well on the same iPhone with an older iOS version. I cannot remember which versions; it might be one (2024) or two years ago (2023).
