SUMMARY I downloaded a .flatpakref file from Flathub as flatpak+https had an issue (separate bug report coming) and it failed to install STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open https://flathub.org/apps/com.sindresorhus.Caprine/install 2. Download the .flatpakref file provided 3. Open the downloaded file from browser's download window (in my case LibreWolf from Flatpak) OBSERVED RESULT Could not open file:///var/home/justin/Downloads/com.sindresorhus.Caprine.flatpakref EXPECTED RESULT Application is loaded in Discover for installation Discover: 6.4.4 Fedora Linux 42.20250821.0 (Kinoite) (Wayland) KDE Frameworks: 6.17.0 Qt: Using 6.9.1 and built against 6.9.1 Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-lp64 Kernel: linux 6.15.10-200.fc42.x86_64 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am using Fedora Kinoite, that is why the home path is /var/home/justin as that is where /home is located
I tested further on this, and it seems every second time I open the .flatpakref it does this error, every other time it opens the app page correctly.
I can reproduce that, but might this be a problem with the app or Flathub? If I search for "Caprine" in Discover (with Flathub as one of the available sources, of course), it doesn't find the app. `appstreamcli search caprine` also finds nothing: > appstreamcli search caprine > No component matching 'caprine' found. Does that happen to you too? If so, I'd suggest investigating the app itself.
