Created attachment 184422 [details] Screenshot of the problematic drop-down SUMMARY In the 'Settings' window, under 'Spell Checking', there's a drop down labelled "Selected default language:". On Windows all the English options are labelled as "American English (United States)", followed by the dictionary language code in brackets (e.g. GB, ZA, NZ). I'd also like to comment on the design of this drop-down. The only options that show up are languages which I have Windows-wide spellcheck enabled for. Personally I'd prefer to be able to choose any language for spellchecking, even if I didn't want Windows-wide spellchecking in that language. Perhaps I'm a minority. But even so, the behaviour is inconsistent, since I have every version of English available where Windows only uses the GB dictionary for it's spellchecking. One of the languages I have system-wide spellchecking for is Norwegian, which also has variants, and yet these variant dictionaries aren't visible in the drop-down, only the dictionary I'm using. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open settings 2. Click on spellcheck 3. Expand drop-down OBSERVED RESULT Menu has mislabelled options. EXPECTED RESULT Each dictionary is correctly labelled, for example "English (Great Britain) [GB] " and "English (Zimbabwe) [ZW]" SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 11 23H2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0 Qt Version: 6.8.3
