Description Unrivaledir 2025-08-24 15:43:39 UTC
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Boot Arch Linux/Linux-xanmod with RX 580 (amdgpu).
2. Log into Plasma (Wayland) session.
3. Run:

[~]# glxinfo -B | grep -E 'Accelerated|OpenGL renderer'
    Accelerated: no
OpenGL renderer string: llvmpipe (LLVM 20.1.8, 256 bits)

OBSERVED RESULT
On Plasma (Wayland), xdpyinfo -display :1 -ext DRI3 → “DRI3 extension not supported”; glxinfo -B → “Accelerated: no”, renderer = llvmpipe. Journal shows: kwin_wayland_wrapper: Xwayland glamor: GBM Wayland interfaces not available.

EXPECTED RESULT
Xwayland exposes DRI3/glamor and GLX; glxinfo -B shows Accelerated: yes with radeonsi (or zink (RADV…).

Environment:
- Desktop: Plasma 6.4.4 / KWin 6.4.4
- Xwayland: 24.1.8
- Mesa: 25.2.1 (also tested 25.1.7)
- libdrm: 2.4.125
- wayland / wayland-protocols: current (include versions)
- Kernel: 6.16.3.arch1-1 (also tried custom xanmod before)
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 (Polaris10)
- Driver: amdgpu (RADV works; Vulkan sees the GPU)

libEGL warning: failed to get driver name for fd -1
libEGL warning: MESA-LOADER: failed to retrieve device information
libEGL warning: failed to get driver name for fd -1

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0
Qt Version: 6.9.1
Kernel Version: 6.16.3-arch1-1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 8 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i3-12100
Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.4 GiB usable)
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 580 Series

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I also have some others problem too:
1. when I Alt+tab, the screen freeze for 5~10 seconds
2. Fonts in browser are very very sharp
3. Can't take screenshot with"Spectacle"

Note: all problems ran when I switched my monitor to "LG UltraGear". I was working with X11 and there wasn't any problem but after updating to Linux 6.14 and plasma 6.44, as you know, X11 removed and now I had to face these problems.

Thanks a billion
Sincerely
Artin

Thanks for the bug report! Someone with more in depth knowledge of the video stack will have to look into the problem with xwayland glamor

Unfortunately, these are multiple distinct issues, which will make them not actionable in this report. See https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting#Multiple_issues_in_a_single_Bugzilla_ticket for more explanation.
Can I ask you to submit a new bug report for each specific issue in the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION? Thanks again!

It sounds like KWin is using software rendering.

Please attach the output of
> journalctl --user-unit plasma-kwin_wayland --boot 0
and
> drm_info
and
> eglinfo
here
