Description willem 2025-08-23 13:58:20 UTC
SUMMARY
When using digikam it will happen that suddenly parts/segments of the digikam window get repeated/displaced.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use digikam
2. suddenly segments of the window are shown double
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
window segments appear double
clicking the mouse anywhere in the window "clicks" somewhere else than where the mouse pointer actually appears to be
minimizing/maximizing does not resolver the issue.
moving the window to another monitor does not resolve the issue

EXPECTED RESULT
no doubling of segments of the window

Probably poor OpenGL support in your system, activate the enforcement of software OpenGL in the digiKam settings under Miscellaneous->System and restart digiKam.

Problem solved with this adjustment. Thank you.

Despite the suggested adjustments in digikam config this issue still occurs, though not as often as before. Therefore I am reopening this issue.

Looked at the logs (journalctl) but can´t really find anything there that seems related.
Please let me know what I can do to provide more useful info.

Can you check with the Linux AppImage bundle that we provide ? Try the current 8.9.0 pre-release available here :
