Created attachment 184373 [details] CCC media screenshot So I did submit bug 508635 just now, but this is different. What I would also like to see in kdenlive is something that the CCC video player does. if you go to any video on media.ccc.org like https://media.ccc.de/v/why2025-26-isms-oxide-and-you-information-security-management-system-for-hackers#t=1928 you'll see that the bar where you're scrubbing through the video has like very thin vertical slices over the entire bar, so it allows you to quickly see where each section of the video is. for this presentation you can clearly see when the feed is on the presentation or on the presenter. Something like this in kdenlive could also be really useful as a non-default-enabled mode I think. (so having these slices on the actual video track objects themselves).
Thanks for your report. Just to be clear, you would like to have this feature when playing the project in Kdenlive, or burn it in the rendered video ?
oh sorry, yeah I mean in the video track in the project view. see new attachment

Oh I see, so that is a new kind of thumbnail that would use the first column of each frame's thumbnail to generate an overview ?
(In reply to Jean-Baptiste Mardelle from comment #4) > Oh I see, so that is a new kind of thumbnail that would use the first column > of each frame's thumbnail to generate an overview ? I think we're on the same page yeah. this is a whole new thing. similar to that ccc media player, allows you to at a glance see what kind of colors are happening throughout an entire block. useful if you know that "there's a section i need that was recorded when the video was mostly green" for example
