This is a result of setting the screen resolution to 50%, which reduces the size of many UI elements. I'll forward this to the developers to see if there's a way to add functionality to allow those to be enlarged with a smaller screen resolution, but then I'm not sure what the point of setting the resolution that small would be.

Can you describe the need that is being served for you with setting the screen resolution to 50%?

Three reasons:
* When setting the scaling to 50%, then things go smaller, so I've got more screen real estate basically. * It's also very useful for when I have a small screen like let's say below 10", and connect remotely to that 10" from a larger 27" or bigger screen. Having 50% scale on the 10" is great in this scenario.
* Having 50% scaling allows me to set 4K resolution in video games on a 1080p screen.

Thanks for explaining. I'll pass this along to the developers.

After speaking with Nate, I'm afraid we'll have to close the bugs related to the large font size with 50% display scaling. As he mentioned in bug 508595, Plasma isn't designed to support this and it would be a large amount of work to change that.
