Description Justin Zobel 2025-08-14 03:42:38 UTC
SUMMARY
When editing the History size input box the behaviour is odd.

I was trying to set it as high as possible so I tried to put in as many 9s as possible. It stopped at 999, but then I can hit the up arrow and get higher.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Configure dialog
2. Type in 999 in History size
3. Press Page Up or Up Arrow on keyboard or click the up arrow to the right of the input box

OBSERVED RESULT
It goes higher than 999

EXPECTED RESULT
User can type in 99999999 or similar

OK so I did a bit more testing, and it hits a limit at 2,048. I think it would probably be ideal to specify this on the page to reduce confusion.

The max value is 2048, so it won't let you enter anything higher than that. 999 + one more digit would be higher than that.

Still, this is a bit weird to use, yeah.

I'm concerned we even allow that high of a number, sounds like recipe for bad time, especially with files.
