SUMMARY: Prior to the 25.04.3 update that came with Debian 13 / Trixie, Dolphin had a way to quickly show and hide the status bar via adding an icon to the toolbar and / or creating a keyboard shortcut. The new layout, as discussed here: https://discuss.kde.org/t/dolphin-missing-bar-on-bottom/33549 made this nonexistent. Now, a user must navigate through the menu to enable / disable the status bar, which is extra tedious when one also keeps the menu hidden. Where before it was simply a matter of clicking an icon on the toolbar, now it's become multiple steps: CTRL+M > Settings > Configure Dolphin > Interface > Status and Location bars > Disable > Apply > OK > CTRL+M. Users who frequently work with large files (photo, audio, video etc) need to check their remaining drive space often and having a quick way to toggle this on and off is important and saves both screen real estate and time. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin 2. Try to hide or show the Status Bar with your toolbar shortcut 3. Oops, it's gone. OBSERVED RESULT See above. EXPECTED RESULT Also see above. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Debian 13 / Trixie ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I dig that there are now separate settings to show / hide the Zoom bar and Status Bar would LOVE it if there were independent shortcuts / toolbar icons for each of these. Thanks for your time!
