Created attachment 183867 [details] Windows 10 print options Kate Version 25.11.70 I was on the Kate forum and it was determined that this is probably a bug or a feature. While there are settings on the Linux version of the Kate program to print line numbers, the Windows version does not have that feature. Please see this screenshot: https://postimg.cc/75kysdQj After not getting anywhere with suggestions, I asked Chat GPT if I was doing something wrong. See the conversation below. I hope there is a fix for this as I really like "Kate". Thanks! Ed Here is a "conversation" I just had with Chat GPT: Me: "In Linux and maybe MAC, there are options for printing line numbers out on paper. In Windows there is no File, Print, OPTIONS path. It does not exist. Can you help me?" Chat GPT: "It looks like you're absolutely right—Kate on Windows does not offer a built-in way to print line numbers directly. While the traditional approach (available in older Linux versions) involves using File → Print → Options → Text Settings → Print line numbers, that option is absent in the Windows version of Kate. Users on forums confirmed that this print dialog functionality simply doesn't exist on Windows builds—even though it works in Linux environments." Being a novice at coding, I find it very helpful to be able to print out my code. SUMMARY Please make the Windows Version of Kate so that there is an option to print out line numbers. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run Kate on a Windows machine 2. Try to print text with line numbers. 3. OBSERVED RESULT No option for line numbers EXPECTED RESULT An option to turn on line numbers just like Linux.
