Description rafacolucci 2025-08-06 13:40:48 UTC
STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Open a web browser (e.g., Firefox or Chromium-based) on Desktop 1.
(Optional) Start playing a video (e.g., YouTube).
Switch to Desktop 2 using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Meta + Right Arrow.

OBSERVED RESULT

The desktop switch animation stutters. The issue is more noticeable when a video is playing in the browser. It does not occur with other types of applications.

EXPECTED RESULT

Smooth desktop switching animation, regardless of which application is open or what it's doing.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: Bazzite 42 and Arch Linux (issue occurs in both)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.16.0
Qt Version: 6.9.1
Kernel Version: 6.15.9-103.bazzite.fc42.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
    RAM: 32 GiB
    Manufacturer: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.
    Product Name: MS-7B86
    System Version: 5.0
The compositor is enabled and using default settings.
The issue is specific to KDE and does not occur in other desktop environments like GNOME or XFCE.
The stutter seems related to hardware-accelerated content in browsers, possibly a rendering or synchronization issue.
