Description Sergio 2025-08-02 12:48:24 UTC
SUMMARY

Clicking on a system tray icon opens the corresponding popup (e.g, for Audio Volume, or Network Manager, etc.). Until long ago these popups used to close themselves when one pressed esc or clicked on a screen space outside the popup. Recently the system trays popups stay open, which hinders the usage of the other applications, by covering them. To close the popups one must explicily press the down arrow icon on the system tray.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click on the volume icon on the system tray
2. See the Audio volume popup open
3. Press esc, or click on the screen background out of the popup

OBSERVED RESULT
The popup stays open

EXPECTED RESULT
The popup closes

Thank you for the bug report!

However Plasma 6.3.6 no longer receives updates or maintenance from KDE; active versions are 6.4 or newer. Please upgrade to an active version as soon as your distribution makes it available to you. Plasma is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in the next one.

If you need help with Plasma 6.3.6, please contact your distribution, who bears the responsibility of providing help for older releases that are no longer receiving updates from KDE.

If you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report.
