SUMMARY
The mouse pointer can get stuck showing the "Not Valid" symbol (red circle with line through)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE 
(for example)
1.  Enter Edit Mode
2.  Select "Add or Manage Widgets"
3.  Drag a widget to a part of the screen where it can't be dropped (Mouse pointer indicates this with the crossed circle symbol) and release the mouse button
4. Exit Edit Mode

OBSERVED RESULT
Mouse pointer continues to show the "Not Valid" symbol when it's over the desktop

EXPECTED RESULT
Mouse pointer should be an arrow
