Description patrick.wyrod 2025-07-28 17:57:38 UTC
SUMMARY
Save session button breaks "show logout screen" in current session: Ctrl+Alt+Del and Sleep/Restart/Shut Down launcher buttons all become unresponsive. The session is still saved and the logout screen functionality returns upon reboot with "sudo reboot now" or holding down the hardware power button.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select "When session was manually saved" under "Session restore"
2. Search "save session" in launcher and click icon
3. Attempt to access login screen (with Ctrl+Alt+Del, launcher power buttons, desktop session commands from launcher, etc.); observe no response
4. Reboot with systemd or hardware button; observe that session was saved and logout screen is now accessible

OBSERVED RESULT
Logout screen doesn't show up until reboot after saving session.

EXPECTED RESULT
Clicking "save session" having no impact on accessing the logout screen in current session.

Thank you for the bug report!

However Plasma 6.3.4 no longer receives updates or maintenance from KDE; active versions are 6.4 or newer. Please upgrade to an active version as soon as your distribution makes it available to you. Plasma is a fast-moving project, and bugs in one version are often fixed in the next one.

If you need help with Plasma 6.3.4, please contact your distribution, who bears the responsibility of providing help for older releases that are no longer receiving updates from KDE.

If you can reproduce the issue after upgrading to an active version, feel free to re-open this bug report.
