STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to Settings -> General -> View -> "Type of the KMyMoney view" 2. set radio button to "List" (or "Tree". Anything except "Tabbed") 3. Return to the main window of the application OBSERVED RESULT Search field is over left columns of pages is occupied the horizontal space alone, no other elements could is placed next to it horizontally. (the screenshot) EXPECTED RESULT Search field is over left columns of pages BUT other elements such as ledger tabs or Home page are occupied the horizontal space to the left of "Search field" SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro, 6.12.28-1-MANJARO (64-bit), X11 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.6 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.16.0 Qt Version: 6.9.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION It starts with latest update to the version 5.2.0. Sorry, I don't know what was the version number before the update.
Something is definitely strange there. That search bar does not look to me like anything I have ever seen in KMyMoney. As far as I know, the only search bar at all like that is in the Ledgers View (which is what you are showing) and only if you hit Ctl-F. However, it appears at the bottom of the ledger, not the top. What happens if you do hit Ctl-F? It "should" show the search bar at the bottom, with a Status Filter dropdown at the right of the search box. Please also add a screenshot of the Home View.
The search widget is a feature that was introduced by KF6 not KMyMoney. Its presence is already fixed in KMyMoney git.
Thank you Thomas!! @Jack Despite later conversation is redundant) No, that search bar is not related to ledger or anything else. It searches only withing that left field. See the screens. Thanks!
