People view

FaceA is correctly recognized as PersonA.
A few instances of the faceA are also incorrecly recognized as PersonB.
Under People panel, find the PersonA

CTRL-click to select all the instances of FaceA, both under PersonA and Personb.
Drag the selected faces to PersonA

Expected result:
The pictures are assigned to the Person they were dragged to.

Actual result:
Mouse curcor changes to have a plus in it. Faces are not assigned and remain in the Unconfirmed view.

Do you use the Qt5 or the Q6 version of the Windows installer ? Go to Help/Components Info for details...

I'm assuming you're using the Qt6 version, and you don't see a popup window when you drop onto PersonA, right?
This is currently a known bug in the Qt6 version. However, it doesn't occur on every Windows installation. I have three Windows computers here that don't have this issue.

The issue is present in the latest version:

digiKam: 8.7.0
KDE Frameworks: 6.12.0
Qt: Using 6.8.3 and built against 6.8.3
Windows 11 Version 24H2
Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-llp64
Kernel: winnt 10.0.26100
Comment 5 caulier.gilles 2025-08-12 12:28:26 UTC
Be patient. I think that the issue come from the Qt 6.8.3 version used to build the Windows installer.
In VCPKG framework used to build under Windows, Qt is not updated to 6.9.0. I plan to rebuild all today or tomorrow.

Best regards
