Description Gildeon 2025-07-10 15:14:02 UTC
SUMMARY
When using tab-related shortcuts in sequence without releasing modifier keys, Konsole unexpectedly closes the entire window.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Konsole.
2. Press Ctrl+Shift+T to open a new tab.
3. Without releasing Ctrl+Shift, press Tab to switch back to the previous tab.
4. Still holding Ctrl+Shift, press W to close the previous tab.

OBSERVED RESULT
Konsole closes the previously opened tab, switches to the newly created one, and then unexpectedly closes the entire window.

EXPECTED RESULT
Only the targeted tab should be closed. The Konsole window should remain open with the remaining tab(s) active.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: N/E
macOS: N/E
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 24.04 User Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0
Qt Version: 6.9.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This behavior only occurs when using the shortcuts in quick succession without releasing Ctrl+Shift. If each shortcut is used separately (releasing keys in between), the issue does not occur.

I'm not able to reproduce this on Plasma 6.4.2 with a laptop's internal keyboard or an external keyboard
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0
Qt Version: 6.9.1

I also can't reproduce in git-master.

Are you able to reproduce this with a new user? I'm wondering if maybe there's another keybind or old setting that might be interfering.
