SUMMARY Now i get screen tearing with full screen games cause allow tearing is on by default and no way to change it. Some games have bad implementation of vsync that causes tearing and would be nice to have proper vsync in Wayland. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Untick the ticked box of allow tearing for full screen windows. 2. Test a game full screen and it has tearing if it's own vsync isn't turned on. 3. Try out goverlay + mangohud to force vsync on for all apps and it doesn't work for some games. OBSERVED RESULT The setting allow tearing for full screen windows does nothing and to have it be allowed by default is bad. EXPECTED RESULT To have a toggle that works with RADV drivers. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.12.34-1-MANJARO KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0 Qt Version: 6.9.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have AMD's rx 6600 RADV drivers and im running on Wayland.
I think that it's user thing. I have Goverlay and Mangohud set so that overrides the settings. Also with VK3D3 i had to use MESA_VK_WSI_PRESENT_MODE=fifo environment variable to get vsync on for VK3D3 games.
