Description Ángel Navarro 2025-07-08 03:48:47 UTC
SUMMARY
These are really useul when working with fine detail in touchpad but they don't work at all in touchscreen.
Also, the touchscreen click/drag/drop is done way too off of the point as I show it in the video.
Additionally, the three-finger up/down gesture works on touchscreen but not in the touchpad, so it's the opposite issue there. Some "gesture unification" would be wonderful for accesibility.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try to use three-finger-pinch to zoom in the touchscreen. (doesn't work)
2. Try to click an element with the touchscreen while zoomed in (also doesn't work, it's very off and I can't move the viewport)
3. Try to use the three-finger-up/down gesture in the touchpad to Present Windows/Overview (opposite issue, doesn't work)

OBSERVED RESULT
The gestures that work in one input method don't work in the other

EXPECTED RESULT
The gestures should be unified or at least work consistently on both touchpad and touchscreen

We have to be very careful with global level gestures as we don't want to do anything that could interfere with applications and their gestures.

Personally I think it's out of scope, but I'll leave it open for a bit.

Could you file another bug report (you can link the same video), so we can track them independently.
