Description Thomas Bernat 2025-07-06 17:14:14 UTC
I am experiencing delays of variable length in the display of text when I hover highlighted text with notes or popup notes. I would expect rather instantaneous display, especially for short text (a few lines), which is the standard use case.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Highlight text and add a note, or create a popup note, and add some text. Do this a second time.
2. Put the mouse cursor over the first note.
3. Remove the mouse cursor from the first note, put the mouse cursor over the first note again or over the second note.
4. Navigate slightly through the pdf keeping the two notes in sight. Repeat steps 2 and 3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Step 2: The text is displayed only after 1 second.
Step 3: Actually, if one does not scroll through the pdf, when hovering a second time the same note, or hovering for the first time the other note, the waiting time is much shorter, much more satisfactory.
Step 4: If one navigates through the pdf, even staying on the same page, the behavior is reset: one has to wait for about 1 second to view the text on any note by hovering, and hovering again the same or another note without navigating in the pdf displays the text almost immediately.

EXPECTED RESULT
The text should appear instantaneously
