SUMMARY

If night light settings are applied but cause display to power off (as happened on a Dell 7320 detachable), then there is no obvious way to disable night light(!)

Please add the Keep Display Configuration? dialogue (as on the Display Configuration parent setting) that auto cancels changes after 15s if they are not confirmed, to avoid this issue.

Display settings only has a revert dialog because it's somewhat likely for some configurations to not work (and this is outside of our influence), but it must never ever happen with night light (especially considering that it can be enabled in the background after you configured it once!).

Please open a bug report about the actual issue for KWin. If you provide the output of
> drm_info
and
> journalctl --user-unit plasma-kwin_wayland --boot 0
and
> journalctl -k --boot 0
after reproducing the problem (--boot -1 instead of 0 if you have to reboot in between), hopefully we can figure out what the root cause is and how to fix it.
