Created attachment 182967 [details] Screenshot of the unremovable but invisible System Tray that sits on the task bar SUMMARY With 6.4.x, the system tray apparently can't be cleanly removed anymore. When I try to, while the contents of the system tray disappear, I'm stuck with some invisible broken copy of it still on the task bar that I seem to be unable to get rid of. I'm pretty sure this still worked under 6.3.x. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enter panel editing mode 2. Remove system tray 3. Right-click where removed system tray is and find out that it's not actually removed OBSERVED RESULT See screenshot EXPECTED RESULT System tray is immediately fully gone. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: postmarketOS Edge based on Alpine Edge KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0 Qt Version: 6.8.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I can reproduce this on Plasma git-master, and can add some detail While still in edit mode, I also see the pop up for the system tray in the blank area where it had been After exiting edit mode, the panel behaves normally Going back into edit mode, it also behaves normally, the pop up menu for the system tray is no longer shown

> EXPECTED RESULT > > System tray is immediately fully gone. That isn't possible; if it was the "undo deleting that widget" functionality wouldn't work. What we need to do is do a better job of hiding the traces of the widget during the time between when you delete it, and when it *actually* gets deleted from the config file.
