Icons of different sizes looking all wonky and crazy

SUMMARY
As the Icons Only Task Manager fills up the icons get smaller, but instead of getting smaller at the same time they fill the space with mismatched size, which looks... crazy.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use the Icons Only Task Manager
2. Open more windows

OBSERVED RESULT
Some icons get smaller sooner than others.

EXPECTED RESULT
All icons to be the same size at any given time. When one gets smaller then all others should, too.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian 13
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2

Thanks for the bug report. So we can try to narrow down the cause, can you share screenshots of:
- The settings for the panel in the screenshot
- The settings for the icons-only task manager (Appearance and Behavior)

Also, please let us know if you have any spacers in the panel, they have been known to cause similar issues.

There's no spacer in this panel. It only has these:
- Application Launcher
- Icons Only Task Manager
- Total CPU Use
- Memory Usage
- Network speed
- Digital Clock

Thank you for the screenshots and details. I set up a panel in the same way on git-master and opened about 10 windows between Firefox, Chrome, Konsole, Obsidian Notes and Dolphin. I wasn't able to reproduce this

I also couldn't reproduce in Fedora or Neon User, both have Plasma 6.4.2

There are two probable causes.
1. This is fixed in Plasma 6.4.2 or later
2. This is caused by some leftover cache or config thing in your user. If you see the same problem with a new user, you can rule this out. Can you try this and let us know if you see the same bug with a new user?

Thanks.

With a new user I also couldn't reproduce it with only 10 windows, but opening and closing a bunch more I eventually found a combination of windows that triggered the problem. When reproducing it, I suggest you take a program like Dolphin where you can quickly and easily open a new window and then just Ctrl-N your way up to a whole big bunch of them.

I am able to reproduce this in 6.4.2. On my system, it's necessary to have enough windows open that the icons fill left hand panel. This can be reproduced whether the panel is set to fill height or grow to fit content.

I am not able to reproduce this with the same programs and even more Firefox and Dolphin windows open. This looks to be fixed in 6.5.0. This is scheduled be published in October.
