can you post a bit more journalctl contents around that one error message?
marking as needsinfo as there is nothing else actionable here.
I just installed on a virtual machine a freshly downloaded image of kinoite on fodora 42: but the wallet is correctly opened. I seem not to be able to reproduce the issue there
sorry for missing details: i am using the bootc containerimage of quay.io: rpm-ostree rebase ostree-unverified-registry:quay.io/fedora-ostree-desktops/kinoite:42.20250701.0-x86_64 And in user-journal we find (running in a virtualbox) Jul 01 14:32:51 fedora dbus-broker-launch[1568]: Ready Jul 01 14:32:51 fedora systemd[1304]: Started plasma-kcminit.service - KDE Config Module Initialization. Not on the (i admit, generated by ci-test / https://gitlab.com/fedora/ostree/ci-test and put into quay-registry) - not official yet - version. I am running this on gitlab myself (with some additions to the base-installations, other repos and the like) but the result is the same as in quay.io Still necessary to fix esp. when fedora atomic desktops switches over to bootc...
This error message doesn't come from any KDE code. Is there any indication this is a KDE bug and not an incompatibility introduced by Kinoite? If there are code changes in KWallet needed to support Kinoite, it would be helpful to know what they are.
I've noticed as well that automatic kwallet unlock stopped working on latest Kinoite versions. If you install Kinoite (Fedora 42) from official image then it works, but once you update that installation then it stops working. I tried Plasma 6.5 Beta on rawhide and the issue is still there. I wonder if there are any usable logs available in regards to that.

In latest KDE Frameworks it's broken because of bug 509680. That's likely unrelated to the bug in this issue, but adds on top of it. (It was also broken in 6.14 by a different bug, fixed in 6.15, and now broken again by 509680).
