I'd like to suggest a new feature for Plasma Mobile that would enable users to switch to a full KDE desktop interface when connecting their phone to an external display. The goal is to transform a mobile device into a complete desktop workstation by allowing: A full desktop mode experience (similar to Plasma Desktop UI), External monitor support (via USB-C, HDMI, or wireless), Keyboard and mouse support (Bluetooth or wired), Optional use of the phone screen as a touchpad or virtual keyboard when no physical peripherals are connected. This would allow users to use their phones as portable computers, saving costs and reducing the need for traditional laptops or desktops. It also aligns with KDE’s mobile and convergence vision. I hope this idea can spark interest and discussion. I’m happy to help refine the concept further if needed!
We've had some discussion in the past: https://invent.kde.org/teams/plasma-mobile/issues/-/issues/192 And I have a half finished MR: https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-mobile/-/merge_requests/548, it just needs time and resources to implement
