When opening an app that triggers Polkit authentication (e.g., GParted), the authentication dialog plays a sound. However, this sound is not listed under System Settings → Notifications, and cannot be changed, disabled, or identified from KDE’s normal sound system. This suggests the dialog is playing a sound outside of KDE's notification framework. Expected behavior: If a sound is played when authentication is required, it should be listed as a system notification event so users can configure or disable it. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open GParted in KDE Plasma 2. Wait for authentication dialog 3. Notice that a sound is played 4. Check System Settings → Notifications: no relevant sound is shown System Info: - KDE Plasma version: 6.4.1 - KDE Frameworks version: 6.15.0 - Linux distribution: Arch Linux - polkit-kde-agent-1 version: 6.4.1-1
The authentication sound is set here: System Settings → Notifications → Application Settings → Authentication System → Configure Events... → Play a sound On my system, when I change this sound, it is used in authentication dialogs. Do you see that on your system?
