Drag an item from Dolphin and drop it on the Desktop area.

Result:
Nothing happens.

Expected result:
A context menu asking what should be done with the item (Move/Copy) should appear.

Sounds exactly like Bug 506188; marking as a duplicate. In that bug report, if you could also answer the questions I asked there, that would be nice.
