SUMMARY
When the wallpaper selection dialog is open (e.g. via right-click on the desktop) and wallpaper is changed but not applied yet, attempting to set a wallpaper manually via Dolphin (right-click > "Set as Wallpaper" for either screen or desktop only) has no effect. The wallpaper only updates after the wallpaper dialog is closed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the wallpaper selection window (right-click on the desktop).
2. Change wallpaper but don't apply the changes yet.
4. Open Dolphin and select a desired image.
5. Right-click the image and choose “Set as Wallpaper”.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens until the wallpaper selection window is closed.

EXPECTED RESULT
Wallpaper should update immediately.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Just noticed that during screen recording with Spectacle, the wallpapers flicker. This doesn’t happen on the actual screen - it’s only visible in the recording.

I was wrong, it was not the wallpaper flicker, but recording itself. Spectacle is going crazy as usual
