SUMMARY After updating to KDE 6.4.0, the keyboard does not work as expected: numpad outputs symbols when the number are pressed; "greater/less than" key outputs a "z" rather than "greater/less than" symbol. Also, different applications reproduce different behaviour (for example, the numpad works in Kate but not in vscode). Other wrong behaviours are common amongst all the application; e.g.: the numpad * key outputs a + symbol. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Press a key like "greater/less than" symbol, or press a numpad key OBSERVED RESULT Wrong symbol is output. EXPECTED RESULT The symbol displayed on the physical keyboard key should be shown in the (any) editor. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0 Qt Version: 6.9.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This started after the KDE update to 6.4.0.
Did the configured keyboard layout change? It sounds a bit like that's what happened. You can check in System Settings > Keyboard
