SUMMARY Wayland: Enabling "Accent color from wallpaper" crashes plasmashell and prevents re-login STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Log into KDE Plasma 6.3.5 Wayland session 2. Open System Settings → Appearance → Colors 3. Enable "Accent color from wallpaper" OBSERVED RESULT - Splash screen appears and freezes, or session immediately returns to GDM login screen - No desktop, panels, or widgets load - Unable to use Plasma session unless setting is disabled manually EXPECTED RESULT - Desktop should load normally - Accent color should be extracted from wallpaper without crashing plasmashell SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 25.10 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0 Qt Version: 6.8.3 Windowing System: Wayland Display Manager: GDM3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - The issue is 100% reproducible - Temporary workaround: Log into another desktop environment (e.g., GNOME), open System Settings, and disable the "Accent color from wallpaper" option under Colors - After that, Plasma Wayland session loads correctly - No backtrace available, as plasmashell crashes silently
