Description Javierinsitu 2025-06-08 04:29:24 UTC
I am requesting the addition of a panel or view within Marknotes that displays recently accessed notes and/or a list of user-designated "favorite" notes.

Problem:
Currently, Marknotes lacks a quick and easy way to access notes that the user has recently been working on or notes that are particularly important. Users have to rely on searching or browsing through their entire collection to find these notes, which can be inefficient.

Proposed Solution:
Implement a panel or view that displays either recent notes, favorite notes, or ideally both. This could be a sidebar, a dedicated tab, or a dropdown menu.

Desired Functionality (Recent Notes):
Display Order: Notes should be displayed in reverse chronological order of access/modification.
Number of Notes: The number of displayed recent notes should be configurable (e.g., 5, 10, 20).
Clear/Dismiss: Provide an option to clear the recent notes list.
Desired Functionality (Favorite Notes):

Mark as Favorite: Allow users to easily mark notes as "favorites" (e.g., with a star icon).
Display in Panel: Display the list of favorite notes in the panel.
Ordering: Allow users to manually order their favorite notes.
Persistence: Favorite notes should be persistent across sessions.
Combined Panel (Ideal):

Tabbed Interface: A single panel could have tabs for "Recent Notes" and "Favorite Notes".
Configurable Display: Allow users to choose whether to display only recent, only favorites, or both.
Benefits:

Improved Workflow: Provides quick access to frequently used or important notes.
Increased Efficiency: Reduces the time and effort required to find specific notes.
Enhanced User Experience: Makes Marknotes more user-friendly and intuitive.
Zettelkasten Support: Facilitates a smoother Zettelkasten workflow by making it easy to access related notes.
This feature would greatly improve the usability of Marknotes, especially for users with a large number of notes.
