SUMMARY If your desktop/wallpaper folder has any file or folder "X", and you open X on virtual desktop 1, then move to virtual desktop 2 and click on "X", plasmashell will **scroll back to virtual desktop 1**. This is obviously disruptive to workflow. Nota Bene: this is distinct from [Bug #503519](https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=503519) -- in that bug, opening a file does NOT scroll the virtual desktop; the virtual desktop stays the same but the file is opened in the application on another virtual desktop. That is, Desktop1 run "dolpin X" from the terminal, then move to Desktop2 and in terminal "dolphin X", you'll see that you are still located on Desktop2 but dolphin didn't open; it just opened in Desktop1. Bug #503519 notes this with Kate specifically but it appears to affect all KDE apps (or at least Kate and Dolphin). In THIS bug, with wallpaper location *specifically* the virtual desktop scrolls/changes (whether opening a file in Kate or folder in Dolphin). Both are bugs. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have a set Desktop/Wallpaper Location and multiple virtual desktops. 2. On virtual desktop 1, click on any file or folder -- either kate or dolphin will open 3. Move to another virtual desktop 4. Click on the same file or folder -- observe the scroll/change back to virtual desktop 1 OBSERVED RESULT Virtual desktop changes, disrupting workflow EXPECTED RESULT A new application window to be opened on the existing desktop.
