SUMMARY I wanted to created a "folder" for my music apps on the desktop using the folder view widget. Every time I dragged an app/file to the widget the deskop as a whole freezes. It happens on the folder view layout in the wallpaper setting. Does not happen on desktop. Like Bug 504532, I can't reproduce this. :/ Does the behavior change if you drag different file types, from different locations, etc? Does file size make a difference? Are any network shares involved at all?

Does file size make a difference? Are any network shares > involved at all? No, it doesn't. I have tried apps and files (txt and pdf) of different sizes, and they all caused the same issue. Locations don't matter either. The second I drag anything in that folder, it freezes the whole desktop. I tried from the desktop and from the Downloads folder and the results are the same.
And to add one more thing, folders do the same when I drag them into it
I can't reproduce this either on git-master Solus or Neon Testing I can reproduce on Fedora 42, where the panel is unresponsive for a minute. I was able to interact with a Dolphin window during that time. It looks like this may have been fixed. Can you re-test when CachyOS updates to Plasma 6.4? I'll set this to NEEDSINFO so it will remind us to take a look in a few weeks.
