Description Franck Routier (alci) 2025-05-31 07:15:21 UTC
SUMMARY
Notifications of new messages disappear after a few seconds. If you don't catch it, there is no indication that new messages are pending, you have to open the application to see it. Having a badge with unread messages count on the tray icon, as Element does, would be nice.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open NeoChat minimized in tray icon bar
2. Get a new message
3. The notification pops up, and disappears after a few seconds
4. There is no indication that messages are waiting for you to act urgently :-)

There's not an easy way to do this without implementing something custom, unfortunately. We generally don't want to invest more resources in our tray icon anyway.
