I can see why you want it, it sounds sensible. I'm not sure a search works. As a user you'd filter the result, enable it, but then have to undo the search in order to sort it into the right place. It might need a bigger overhaul to have two frames for "enabled columns" "disabled columns" and the search only in the second frame.
