SUMMARY

Kdenlive fails to render with the following errors:

Rendering of C:/Users/<me>/Videos/Abschlussfilm.mp4 crashed

[producer_xml] failed to load chain "C:/Users/<me>/Pictures/path/to/file7.MP4"
<many other similar lines removed>

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
(unclear: this happens every time I try to export this particular project, but I have not tried to reproduce the issue with other projects)

OBSERVED RESULT

The aforementioned error, no file is output

EXPECTED RESULT

The film is rendered

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 11 Home (version 24H2)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I have tried rendering only a portion of the film, and I still get the above error (even though the portion of the film doesn't contain most of the files mentioned). I have tried rendering in different formats and also get the error.

The files all exist at the locations described in the error message, and the program has access to those files. Some files contain characters like ß or ä — could this be culprit? Only some files have that issue, though — most of the files referenced in the error message do not have this problem.

Thanks for your report. Can you tell us if you are using the standalone Windows version or if you used the installer ? Also is Kdenlive installed on the C: drive ?

Does your username really contain these < > characters or did you just put it as placeholder ?

Hi, sorry for the delay. Since reporting the bug, some personal stuff has come up and I probably won't get much of a chance to properly help debug this. Feel free to close this if there's not enough for you to go on.

Specifically in answer to your questions: (1) it was installed with the installer, (2) it is running on the C:// drive, and (3) the `<me>` was just redacted information and the real value there is a normal name. (Similarly, the /path/to/... part is also not the real path used.)
