Description Erwin Iosef 2025-05-26 19:15:48 UTC
When you search for a file with "From Here(folder)" enabled at the top, the search results still show other files of the same name present outside of the folder where you started the search, despite "from here"/"your files" clicked.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.14.0
Qt Version: 6.9.0

This folder contains the wine prefix ?

If so, I already tried to draw attention to it here https://discuss.kde.org/t/feature-request-restrict-search-in-wine-disks-when-searching-for-files-in-folder-witch-wine-prefix/35888
But I was ignored. The point is that wine creates a link to / within its prefix
Comment 2 zxvb12z 2025-06-27 23:33:41 UTC
In my case, this behavior was caused by a different symbolic link to /, which I did not notice before, and not by searching in the wine prefix
Comment 3 Erwin Iosef 2025-06-28 04:47:58 UTC
Sorry for not replying, in that case I guess it wouldn't be a bug then, but certainly a limitation perhaps? Maybe an option to not follow symbolic links would be nice.

I also can't access your page, it says it's private or it doesn't exist.

The issue seems fixed in 25.08, closing.
