Description zyf0330 2025-05-16 06:37:04 UTC
SUMMARY
After upgrade from Ubuntu 24.10 to 25.04, I find that the look of icon-only task manager changes.
The icon of focused window had only bottom line is highlight, but now its whole background is highlight.
So now it is difficult to distinguish it from a window icon which is active due to a notify or focus request.

OBSERVED RESULT
To focused window, the whole icon is highlight.

EXPECTED RESULT
To focused window, only bottom line of icon is highlight.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.3.5
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0
Qt Version: 6.8.3

> now its whole background is highlight

In fact this has been true for years and years; it's not a new change.

If it's new to you, that would be the result of a distro-specific packaging issue being fixed or introduced, or perhaps the use of a 3rd-party theme that intentionally changed in appearance, broke, or fixed a bug causing this to not work in the past.

> now it is difficult to distinguish it from a window icon which is active due to a notify or focus request
Only with color schemes where the highlight color is the same or a similar color to the "needs attention" color, which would be an issue with that theme.

Thanks for you reply. Could you tell me how to set highlight color and needs attention color separately?

I checked file tasks.svg, and found that north-attention-center object has color f67400.
I set color as ff4040 which override object of focus and hover, but they both still look different like their original looks, maybe color or opacity, I cannot distinguish. But attention doesn't be override.

I can change color of Focus Decoration and Hover Decoration in the System Settings - Colors, but cannot find how to change color of Attention.
