Description Emily Daemon 2025-05-10 11:44:19 UTC
SUMMARY

The freeze effect is not keyframable. Making it keyframable would let editors create unique effects, like a "timeline scrubbing" effect.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open kdenlive.
2. Add the freeze effect to a clip.

OBSERVED RESULT
The freeze effect's frame parameter is of type "constant".

EXPECTED RESULT
The freeze effect's frame parameter is of type "keyframe"/"animated".

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as just changing a parameter in the XML file. And some of the parameters are mutually exclusive.

Your example can be achieved with other effects but require more manual effort and many cuts, I acknowledge that.
