Description Jonathan Gilbert 2025-05-05 18:48:43 UTC
SUMMARY
The Edge Crop effect does not allow values above the project frame size, regardless of the resolution of the clip it is being applied to.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Obtain a very wide video. In my case, I used a screen recorder, which combined one 1920x1200 monitor with another at 2560x1440 to produce a video file where each frame is 4480x1600 pixels.
2. Add this video to a KDEnlive project and place it onto the timeline.
3. Add an Edge Crop effect.
4. Attempt to crop this video down to the top-left 1920x1080 pixels.

OBSERVED RESULT
It is impossible to enter a value of 2560 for the number of pixels to remove from the right edge. The input box will not accept numbers above 1920.

EXPECTED RESULT
I should be able to enter any number up to the size of the clip, not the video frame.
