mask is warped

SUMMARY
The mask works as intended however when adding a transform effect anywhere in the stack the mask gets warped. I would like to understand this or know if it is a true glitch. 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create object mask, and apply
2. Add transform effect

OBSERVED RESULT
Object mask is warped or non functioning

EXPECTED RESULT
object mask and transform both affect the clip
