In Kdenlive 25.04.0 on Windows 10, custom effects appear after import and work correctly, 
but once the application is closed and reopened, the effects are gone.

The .kdenliveeffect files remain in the correct folder 
(AppData\Local\kdenlive\effect-templates), but Kdenlive does not reload them on startup.

also happens with the portable version and the previous version kdenlive-24.08.0

Thanks for your report. It is not clear to me what you mean by "custom effects appear after import". You mean custom effects that are not on your system but used in a project ? If that is the issue, then in fact custom effects used in a project but not previously saved on the computer will appear correctly in your project but won't be saved as custom effects. You would need to re-save them.

It could be an option on project opening to save custom effects that do not exist on the system, but that would be more a feature request than a bug
