I can't reproduce this; clicking on any system tray icons opens their popups instantly no matter which Plasma theme I'm using. I've got everything built from git master on top of Fedora KDE 41, an AMD GPU, and Qt 6.8.2 Could be a local config issue, or a GPU driver issue (I see you're using NVIDIA: my condolences), or a Qt 6.9 thing, or something else. First let's try to rule out a local config issue. Can you create a new user account on the same machine, log into it, and then reproduce the problem with the Breeze (follows color scheme) theme applied?

Ok, so not configuration. Could be NVIDIA, could be Qt 6.9, could be something else. Is the issue seen with other Plasma styles the follow the color scheme? Or only with Breeze? An example is Utterly-Round. Also, does the issue only affect System Tray popups, or all panel popups? E.g. the one for the Kickoff Application Launcher.
After following your instructions i noticed that the issue only affects the Audio Volume popup and not all panel/system tray popups. The issue also happens in utterly-round, by the way.
Interesting. I wonder what that widget is doing. Off the top of my head, it does have some custom drawing the for volume sliders which could perhaps be related.
