Created attachment 180693 [details] bug When I play music within a folder that has special characters such as á, é, í, ó, ö, ő, ú, ü, ű - the media player widget puts there a questionmark... for example on the attached photo, I'm playing a music within a folder /home/username/Zenék (thats in hungarian, the english equivalent would be of course /home/username/Music) Tried out with different media players such as - Haruna, Juk, Elisa. With Juk, the character was displayed correctly. With Elisa and Haruna, the character was displayed incorrectly. Operating System: EndeavourOS KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0 Qt Version: 6.9.0 Kernel Version: 6.14.3-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Quadro K620 Manufacturer: FUJITSU Product Name: ESPRIMO E510
I can reproduce this on git-master Filenames with UTF-8 characters are displayed correctly, but folders are not.
The relevant text comes from the xesam:url property from MPRIS. The media player expects the value to be URL-encoded, but Elisa (and likley other players too) don't do that
(In reply to Nicolas Fella from comment #2) > The relevant text comes from the xesam:url property from MPRIS. The media > player expects the value to be URL-encoded, but Elisa (and likley other > players too) don't do that then elisa and likely the other players should be fixed instead.
