Description Alex 2025-04-26 19:33:46 UTC
SUMMARY
Effects like expose windows have noticeable flickering during the effect. It seems to be especially on the start and end and during the transition (e.g. when setting effects to be very slow) it is no problem.

Affected:
Nvidia driver 570.144
Graphics card: 5060 Ti

Not affected:
Nvidia driver 570.144
Graphics card: 3060

No new software was installed, the only thing changed is the graphics card itself.
Generally compositing works, but some effects now make the affected parts of the screen flicker.

Hi - it looks like you're using an upstream driver that isn't officially supported for your hardware - see the "Supported Products" section of the NVIDIA page for the driver you're using: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/243330/

And then for the current beta driver: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/243334/

You can consult the NVIDIA forums for further assistance with their driver + hardware interaction: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/gpu-graphics/145

Thanks!

Thanks, I didn't see that the card needs the beta driver. I hope it will resolve the problems.

I can confirm that it works now with latest kwin packages from Debian trixie and the beta driver from the nvidia homepage.
