SUMMARY I wanted to apply some themes, but they never show up after applying and rebooting. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to System Settings > Colors and Themes > Login Screen (SDDM) 2. Download a theme (tested themes: plasmaX, Se7enAero, Sugar Candy) 3. Observe OBSERVED RESULT The login screen shows up as the fallback one (not Breeze) EXPECTED RESULT A different theme on the login screen SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.14.0 Qt Version: 6.8.3 Kernel Version: 6.11.0-24-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-5300U CPU @ 2.30GHz Memory: 8 GiB of RAM (7.6 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: Intel® HD Graphics 5500 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If you are referring to a problem in the SDDM KCM with SDDM and not Plasma Login, please re-open the bug and move to systemsettings [product] / kcm_sddm [component]. The following assumes that this is referring to Plasma Login: The 'Login Screen (SDDM)' KCM is used for SDDM, and Plasma Login is configured by the 'Login Screen' KCM. Like the lock screen, there is no theming besides wallpaper plugins and plasma style. This is by design, you can read more here: https://blog.davidedmundson.co.uk/blog/a-roadmap-for-a-modern-plasma-login-manager/
My bad, moved
After step 2, did you actually *apply* any of the themes you downloaded? Or no?
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #3) > After step 2, did you actually *apply* any of the themes you downloaded? Or > no? Yes I did. After doing so, I even logged out. Still using the fallback one.
Thanks. That means these themes are broken!
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #5) > Thanks. That means these themes are broken! Right... Maybe there is a way to implement a check before downloading/applying a theme to prevent something like this?
I'm afraid not.
