*** I have already a good folder structure for my pictures on my PC with a lot of folders and subfolders. The names of the folder are descriptive. I am looking for for an image management program where I can just open the main folder and subfolders are automatically included in the selection. A selection of a part of a list of folders out of the main folder should also be possible. As well it would be great if the folder name could be taken into the favourite list automatically. I am not sure, if I selected the correct component for my wish. If not, please move it to the right contact person or the right component. Thank you. *** SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3. Are you talking about showFoto? ShowFoto isn't an image management program in the sense that digiKam is. Maik
(In reply to Maik Qualmann from comment #1) > Are you talking about showFoto? ShowFoto isn't an image management program > in the sense that digiKam is. > > Maik You are right. For image management digikam is in fact better. And it offers the requested features. If you regard showfoto only as an editing program folder the existing selection function and favourite list may be sufficient for this. However you can consider, if these features still make sense. Thank you.
In Showfoto, "My Bookmark Places" is already implemented: https://imgur.com/a/onm6F89 Just turn on the Bookmarks view and register your preferred places in this list. See online doc for details : https://docs.digikam.org/en/showfoto_editor/showfoto_leftsidebar.html Best regards Gilles Caulier
